About

Glen D. Huey was born and raised in Ohio. He is the middle child of three boys who at the age of fourteen decided to use his Father’s tools, and help, to build a Sheraton Field Bed, which he has to this day.

Upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati, he turned to home building. Then after a couple of career changes and a yearning to expand his passion for woodworking, he opened a company to design and build projects for home-builders in his area.

After completing a major project, and with the gentle push from his wife who tired of hearing him lament about building furniture, he changed the focus of his work to creating 18th and early 19th century period reproductions.

Today he is the author of three books about period furniture – “Fine Furniture for a Lifetime”, “Building Fine Furniture”, and “Illustrated Guide to Building Period Furniture.” He is the host and talent on “The Woodworker’s Edge” series of woodworking videos and  a contributing editor with Popular Woodworking Magazine. He recently returned full time to his shop to work on a substantial furniture commission, build projects and write articles for Popular Woodworking Magazine, and to produce new woodworking DVDs . There may also be a few surprises in the near future.
